Mode of Payment:
- Online transfer through PayPal:
If you choose to make payment through PayPal, we will send you the link accordingly together with the invoice. If you do have your own PayPal account, payment will be very easy and quick following the link. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you would not have to subscribe to any PayPal account for this transaction. Following the link will also give you the choice to make credit card payment through PayPal, which works just like any other online purchase.
PayPal charges: 4.5% of the invoice total
- Credit card payment:
BORNÉO À LA CARTE accepts Visa and Mastercard. If you wish to pay by credit card, we will send you a credit card authorisation form for you to fill in and sign. This form will permit us to debit your credit card for the indicated transaction.
Processing fees: 2.5% of the invoice total
- Bank transfer:
Should you prefer to pay via bank transfer, BORNÉO À LA CARTE recommends the online money transfer services of TransferWise, as it allows facilitation of international transactions in foreign currencies within a short period of time (as quick as 3 working days).
Processing fees vary and will be charged directly by TransferWise.
Note: We do accept split payments, however, upon booking confirmation a deposit of 30% of the invoice total will fall due and the full invoice total has to be settled at least 15 days before the tour begins.
Change of dates and/or programme:
For any changes of dates and/or tour programme after confirmation and payment of the tour arrangements, BORNÉO À LA CARTE charges a service fee of:
- MYR 65 per adult and per modified day
- MYR 40 per kid (from 12 to 17 years old) and per modified day
- MYR 25 per child (below 12) and per modified day
Should the cost for the modified tour itinerary be higher than the initial invoice/payment, the client will have to cover the balance as well as any extra transaction costs. However, should the cost for the modified tour itinerary be lower than the initial invoice/payment, BORNÉO À LA CARTE reserves the right not to refund the balance.
Tour cancellation by the client:
For any cancellation of tour programme made by the client after confirmation of the tour arrangements, following cancellation charges apply:
- 30 days or more prior to arrival > 5% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees *
- 29 – 15 days prior to arrival date > 30% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees
- 14 – 8 days prior to arrival date > 50% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees
- 7 days or less prior to arrival date > 100% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees
The client bears the full cost of any transaction charges incurred.
* A voucher equivalent to the charged amount will be given, which can be redeemed for future bookings of tour arrangements (with a limited validity of 18 months).
Note: In case of cancellation of tour programme by the client due to an entry ban, travel ban and/or cessation of international air traffic due to any such bans, a refund of 95% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees will be granted beyond the above cancellation deadlines. The full cost of any additional transaction charges incurred are to be borne by the client.
Tour cancellation by BORNÉO À LA CARTE:
BORNÉO À LA CARTE shall not be held accountable for any loss or tour cancellation incurred due to hazardous weather conditions, flight delay/cancellation, outbreak of epidemic disease, strikes, thefts, war and act of God.
In case of cancellation of a single excursion or tour component by BORNÉO À LA CARTE after confirmation and payment of the tour arrangements, due to an act of nature beyond control (hazardous weather conditions, outbreak of epidemic disease, war and act of God), the company reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries, timings and accommodations reserved as and when deemed necessary. Any tours or tour components may be postponed or replaced by similar tours without refund.
In case of cancellation of an entire tour package by BORNÉO À LA CARTE after confirmation and payment of the tour arrangements, due to an act of nature beyond control (hazardous weather conditions, outbreak of epidemic disease, war and act of God), the client will either receive a voucher equivalent to the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees, which can be redeemed for future bookings of tour arrangements (unlimited validity), or a refund of 95% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees and a voucher equivalent to the remaining 5% of the invoice total in Malaysian Ringgit less payment processing fees, which can be redeemed for future bookings of tour arrangements (with a limited validity of 18 months).
BORNÉO À LA CARTE shall not be held liable for any flight delay or flight cancellation and no refund will be given for any tour arrangements or components thereof missed as a result of such flight delay/cancellation.
Insurance:
We highly recommend all clients and travellers to purchase a personal travel insurance. For residents of Europe and Switzerland we recommend Chapka Assurances as they offer a comprehensive coverage, especially for adventure tours.
