Created in 2011, BORNÉO À LA CARTE is the ideal choice for anyone looking for authenticity, as well as for those who like to travel light, unconstrained and off the beaten track. We mainly offer outdoor activities and we try to vary the destinations so as not to end up with massive and repetitive tourism that inevitably degrades the ecosystem and the way of life of the native people. Indeed, our biggest concern is the respect for the environment and the dignity of the people involved in our activities. For these reasons, we strive to choose mainly local suppliers, specialised in their field and with economic benefits to them. With this ethical charter we believe that it is possible to create a kind of tourism that is not alienating while remaining accessible to all.
Amélie has been living in Sarawak since 2009 and founded BORNÉO À LA CARTE in 2011, following the encouragement of Audry. Now being married to a local of the Iban tribe and fully settled in Kuching, Amelie runs her business with enthusiasm, flexibility and with the approach to a fair and authentic tourism.
Audry is French-Malaysian and has been the director of Telang Usan Travel & Tours for nearly 20 years, which BORNÉO À LA CARTE is a product of. Alongside Amélie, since the launch of BORNÉO À LA CARTE, it was her and her unfailing support, who made this great adventure a reality!
After a 6 month internship with BORNÉO À LA CARTE back in 2016 and having completed her Bachelor Degree in international tourism and business, Laura is now a permanent member of the team! Passionate and always in tune with the customer’s request, she will be happy to concoct the perfect tailor-made tour programme for you!
Nicki, our German colleague, has been living in Sarawak and working in tourism for over 10 years. Her friendly attitude, her extreme sense of organisation as well as her great knowledge about Sarawak help to create the perfect itinerary for your holidays. Married to a local as well, she likes to share her passion for Sarawak with others.
